Accounting on the Go Series-47: Effortless GSTIN Management- Auto Populate TaxPayer Details in Zoho Books Mobile App

Hello everyone,

Welcome back! Today, we're focusing on a feature specifically designed for our Indian users in the Zoho Books-Indian edition, particularly those who deal with GST compliance regularly.

We understand the importance of accurate and efficient data entry when it comes to managing GST details for your customers and vendors. The process just got simpler. Now, when you're creating a customer or vendor record in the India edition of Zoho Books, entering a valid GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) will automatically populate the taxpayer details and other relevant business information.

What makes this even more convenient is that it's available in the mobile app, allowing you to use this feature on the go. Whether you're at a client meeting or away from your desk, you can quickly and accurately set up your customer and vendor records without having to worry about manually entering all the details. This not only saves time but also minimises the risk of errors, making your accounting process smoother and more reliable.

Supported OS: iOS

How it works in Zoho Books iOS app:

  • Open the Zoho Books mobile app.

  • Navigate to the "Customers" module.

  • Select an existing customer to edit or create a new customer profile.

  • Enter the basic details like the customer's name and company name.

  • Proceed to select the GST treatment.

  • Enter the valid GSTIN.

  • The Business Legal Name, Business Trade Name, and Place of Supply will be auto-populated.

  • You will also see the option to generate Taxpayer Details.

  • Verify the taxpayer details, then hit "Update."
