Been using Zoho for a while, but now wanting to elaborate on something we tried to do a couple of years ago.
Our overall setup is quite complex, but the part in question is probably so simple for someone that knows how to do it.
If we have a FORM, called "New Job". Within this form we have a lookup field linking to another FORM called "Customer Records". Now we can create a New Job and attach this to either a new customer, or an existing customer.....
We go to a VIEW created on "New Job" form data, and it shows the customer data as both a breakdown of field info (First, Surname, Email, Number etc) and also as a link to that Customer Record Entry.....
So all appears well and good, but! If I create another "New Job" and attach it to a "Customer Record" that already has a job associated with it, the existing one doesn't show any of the related fields, or the direct link withinin the "New Job" VIEW. Guessing it is something ever so simple as to why we cannot assign more than one batch of data from "New Job" form to the "Customer Record" in question. Say we then go back and edit a previous Job which was assigned to a customer record, in VIEW this one now takes priority and shows the Customer Details but the existing one goes blank again in VIEW mode - also worth noting that when I go to edit that record there is no Customer Selected where as there was before I changed another record.
The scenario I am seeing in the HELP sections is the User and Department approach (Job and Customer in our case). You can have multiple users associated with each Department (as we would like multiple jobs to be linked to each customer), and in the User view it shows each department and some where the same department is listed more than once. This is exactly what we are trying to achieve but it just simply does not want to append more than one job record to customer for some reason.
Hope this makes sense. This part is rather important. I would then like to move it on to another level and then allow within "Customer Record" to then see all jobs that have been booked in and attached to that customer. I tried Bi-Directional linking (to a field called "Quick Desc"), but that seemed to not work. It then didn't matter which customer record I went to, you had a dropdown of all records that have data in the "Quick Desc" field.
Hope someone can help. If anyone is keen to directly assist us in tweaking our system then please do get in touch with us.
