Attention: Upcoming changes to Zoho Assist support for older windows versions

At Zoho Assist, our goal is to provide you with secure, reliable, and feature-rich remote support experiences. To maintain this standard, we periodically align our platform with the latest technology and security updates from the broader software ecosystem.

End of Active Support for Certain Windows Versions  

Starting 1st October 2025, Zoho Assist will no longer actively support the following Microsoft Windows operating systems:

  • Windows 7

  • Windows 8

  • Windows 8.1

  • Windows Server 2008 R2

This decision follows the migration to the latest versions of SDKs and other dependent libraries, which have officially deprecated support for these operating systems. These SDKs and libraries are critical to the functioning of Zoho Assist sessions. With support for older OS versions discontinued, maintaining compatibility has become increasingly challenging.

What Should You Do?  

If you are still using any of the above-mentioned operating systems, we strongly encourage you to upgrade to a newer, supported version of Windows. Upgrading ensures:

  • Access to the latest Zoho Assist features

  • Enhanced performance and compatibility

  • Improved security through regular system updates

  • Ongoing support from both Zoho Assist and Microsoft

Can You Still Use Zoho Assist on Older Windows Versions?  

Yes, Zoho Assist will continue to function on these devices for the time being. However, please note:

  • You will not receive the latest features or security enhancements

  • Compatibility may decrease over time

  • Microsoft no longer provides security updates for these OS versions, leaving them vulnerable to risks

For optimal performance and a secure remote support experience, keeping both your operating system and software up to date is essential.
