I'm building an inventory system.  One form holds the parts, and the second form if for my technicians to enter what they are taking/return to/from the inventory.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this:

Tech comes into the warehouse and takes a part off the shelf.  Enters a record in the second form indicating that he has taken the part.  Now I have two decisions to make?

First is who is the tech?  He has selected his name from a drop down.  So, if I'm understanding what I saw in the videos, I need to test a number and somehow get that into a variable.  I think I can figure that out after further study of docs and tutorials.

Now, is the tricky part (from my novice point of view).  I need to somehow locate the part (which was also selected from a dropdown) in the part table, identify the variable name for the quantity on hand, and do the simple math.

I assume that is something that can be done in the configure on click editor, but I think I need some help on how to access and update the quantity field.

Continuing to view videos, study documentation, lots of trial and error (taught myself GWBasic that way about 100 years ago)
