In my form I'm creating a dropdown (single-select) field to enter a student's race/ethnicity (API, AAB, etc.). However, when I try to generate a pivot chart from the data, it shows the race/ethnicity field as being a number field, with data points ranging from 1000 to 1400. I have no idea where these numbers are coming from and how they are coming from the text choice options in the field settings.
I've tried recreating the same field many times, but it always only shows the field as a number type whenever I go to create a report. Even when I leave multiple race/ethnicity fields in the report, only the number breakdown shows up, with the other text dropdown fields not displayed as a possible column of data. When I delete all of the race/ethnicity data, I still encounter the same problem.
Why is this happening? Is there another way to specify that each option in the dropdown is text? Do reports support dropdown fields? I have the exact same set-up for a gender dropdown menu, and I'm encountering no problems when trying to create a report with the gender field. What's the difference?
