If I Delete a Template will it effect existing projects?

If I Delete a Template will it effect existing projects?

I get a Big "Warning...cannot be recovered."  when I start to delete an existing Task list Template.
Will this effect any existing projects in any way?  Will this effect a task list template that was made as a modification of the template I'm going to delete?
