Issue with Sub-Form not linking properly

Hi there!
I've created two views. Using this form:

Our volunteers can enter prisoner information, and then at the bottom, write a short letter to the prisoner. I have it set-up like a subform, so my expectation was that the prisoner's ID would show up in the Correspondence view:

Similarly, under the Prisoner Profile view, I would expect the Correspondance column (far to the right) to have something entered:

I should note that previously I had set-up a bidirectional relationship between the Correspondance form and the Prisoner Profile form. I left that in place because I didn't want to delete that older data.

Can you please help me understand why the Sub-form feature isn't working properly? Fortunately, viewing the records of some of the Prisoner Profiles, the entries are still there in the Sub-forms, so it's not lost! Just needs to be properly connected.
