Hi Zoho Team!
I have been using Notes fields to display dynamic data in my Forms using a combination of deluge script, HTML and CSS. Immediately upon trying the new UI for views yesterday I noticed that a number of my forms were displaying their content differently. On forms that used the two column layout (as opposed to the single column layout), Notes fields were dramatically changing the widths of the columns. These columns have always been locked into a 50/50 split of the width...in other words both columns have always been the same width on my forms and content in the columns was restrained to the width of the column.
This no longer seems to be the case. For example, a Notes field with multiple lines of CSS styled HTML content in the left column no longer is restricted to the predetermined width of the forms' 50/50 two column layout. I have noticed that depending on content my Notes field can push the right column of the form as far as it needs to display the content (Of course content from the right could push the left column too). So, I may have a left column that uses 80% of the layout leaving 20% of the layout for the right column. Of course the fields displayed on the right are wrapped and the form is a mess. I have tried to work around the problem using additional CSS stylings but the form layouts don't seem to respond predictably as before. In addition, when these forms are embedded in a website they are now missing the vertical left and right borders regardless of what I do. (The header and footer display correctly and they do not appear to have their width truncated). The vertical borders are missing regardless of the width the form so they are not being trimmed by the website where they are embedded (and the borders were present before the UI update). The vertical borders are present when displaying the forms in the Zoho environment but the two column layout is still variable in the Zoho environment.
I have a single column stateless form with Notes fields that contain CSS and HTML that is embedded in the same website and it's layout has remained the same after the UI update yesterday. Of course the two column layout issue wouldn't apply here but the vertical borders are present. I have not tested to see whether this is because the form is stateless or because it is a single column layout. I suspect it is because the form is using the one column layout. Unfortunately, I cannot use the one column layout for all of my forms.
Have you added CSS stylings or changed the way CSS is interpreted on forms?
I like the look of the new UI for views but don't like that it has broken my Forms!
Thanks in advance,
John
