It seems that this has been asked by various users, but is not being implemented. I am not sure, but I don't think that this would be too difficult to implement. I (as the portal owner) would like to be notified upon the creation of a task by one of my clients. I am offering access to the portal to them so that they can send me tasks instantly and have everything grouped, it is not of much use if I can do this via e-mail & Dropbox.
