Projects and Clients

Projects and Clients

The "clients" concept is actually quite important in project management, but the way it is implemented here seems like an afterthought, and is unnecessarily confusing:

a). it's not documented or explained anywhere that I can find;
b). it's buried under 'settings,' where I discovered it by accident;
c). When you do associate a client to a project, there is no indication of that fact anywhere that I can find;
d). the implementation seems to conflate two distinct roles for outside companies: 1. a *contractor* (or sub-contractor), which is a firm that I hire to help me on a project; and 2. a *client*, which is the person or firm that has hired me to do the project for them. In most ways this distinction doesn't really matter, since for the program's purposes both are just firms that are associated with the project in some way. But it's confusing to have to call them by the same name.

Finally, since I often do multiple projects for the same client, it would be very nice to have an option to list projects by client the way Basecamp does, as opposed to having just a single long list. (I am a freelance writer: my clients are magazines, and my projects are individual stories.)
