Protectting a Form

I have a number of forms that I only want to be added as subforms. If they are added via their own form alone it causes issues. Is there a way of preventing forms being added when they are not being used as subforms? The particular issue I'm having is in calendar view, clicking an empty date adds a clear form that is intended to be a subform only.
