I don't understand how to use the Roles setting under the user settings to enable data sharing.  Can anyone give me some guidance?

I have multiple teams under one organization that need access to projects created by users on their teams.. The only way I have found to do this so far is to have the project creator add his teammates manually each time a project is created.
