setting end time for contractor to automatically disable

Is there a way to set the expiry date for a contractor so it automatically disables the account? This would be great so the admin does not have to manually monitor and edit this account type? If there is no place to set the expiry date, then explain to me the difference between a contractor and an employee besides the label that is applied.
