Submit form and populate fields in a separate application form.

Please advise if this is possible:

On successful submission of a form I want to use the OpenURL in a script to open a form in a different application but populate fields in that form based on the submission from the original form.

For example, I have a Findings application with a Priority field and a Tasks application with a Priority field. When a user submits a Result I want the Tasks form to open and populate the Tasks.Priority field with what was submitted from the Findings.Priority field. These forms are in separate applications.
