How about including a cost sheet just like a timesheet, and also a matching report that will show total project time and total project cost broken down by task.
...and a BUDGET, and a report of actual versus budget, and also against percentage complete
e.g. the task might be 50% but taken 80% of the time
There might also need to be a labour rate per user per project (maybe on some projects the user has a different rate)
