Wanted to Delete only a Comment, but WHOLE THREAD wiped out!

I clicked "delete" within a comment that was in a series of comments in a forum thread

and the ENTIRE THREAD got wiped out! No warning, no confirmation pop up that the ENTIRE THREAD

was about to be wiped out...it just DELETED EVERYTHING in that thread!

How did that happen and how do we get it back? There was ALOT of VERY important information in there and it's

now ALL GONE! We have a meeting with that client today and need that information ASAP!!!

What happened?!?!?!
