Why Do I Need A Preview Of Zipped Files And How?
The process of zipping and unzipping files is very easy in Zoho Docs. All you need to do is select the files you want to zip into one folder, right click and from the drop down menu, select the Zip option. Your files will be zipped and shown under your documents list, immediately. And the same goes for unzipping files. Zipped folders can also be shared with you by other Zoho users, which will be listed in your documents.
A zipped folder contains multiple files but what if you want to bring out a file from the zipped folder, which you want to share or access separately? Normally you would have to extract all the files in the zipped folder but with the Zoho Docs Zip Preview option, you can extract only a file or files that you want to be listed separately in your documents list. Even when someone shares a zipped folder with you, you might not want all the files in the folder to be extracted. With the Zip Preview, you can not only view all the files in the folder but you can also extract only the files you want in documents list, so they are easier to access and work on.
For a preview of your zipped folder:
- Sign into Zoho Docs and in the documents list, you will see your zipped folders listed.
- Click on the zipped folder.
- A preview page will open in a separate tab in your browser.
- In the page click on the Preview button.
- All the files in the zipped folder will be listed, each with a check box next to them.
- Select the check boxes next to the files you want to extract from the folder.
- Click on the Extract button.
A copy of the files will be extracted and shown in your document list.
