Why exactly are Spreadsheet and Grid views behaving as List view?

Why exactly are Spreadsheet and Grid views behaving as List view?

Various Reports defined as "Spreadsheet" or "Grid" are suddenly behaving as the "List" type.
We did recently add Workflow scripting to the underlying Form, and am hearing that this may be the cause.

Can someone verify exactly what is forbidding these views?  Assuming it is workflow scripting:
  • Any script of any type added anywhere in the Workflow sections?
  • Or only when added to certain "Form" actions?  Which ones?
  • Or only when added to certain "Field" actions?  Which ones?

Also: when I commented out my scripting to see what would fix.... nothing changed.  So I have to ask:

  • Does a fully commented-out script count as a script?

And finally:  Scripting is incredibly helpful.  As are the Sheet and Grid views.  Yet they are mutually incompatible.

  • What is Zoho's plan to allow Sheet and Grid views even if there is scripting?
  • Until then, could there be some error message when a view is defined as Sheet or Grid but cannot be honored?
