ZOHO PROJECTS PITFALLS

We has been ZOHO PROJECTS fans for the past three or fours year, but every year, we straggle with major problems that remain unsolved for us. We started with ZOHO PROJECTS ENTERPRISE and this year we finally started moving things out of Zoho and we renew with the PROFESSIONAL version. 

I'll like to share our problems and see if other users suffer from the same issues and if they created a workaround for them. Three year ago I posted a list of the issues as a response to a suggestions thread, and most of them remains.

The most notorious issues we have:

1. It's impossible to share a private comment with a co-worker on a issue or tasks. It seems that Zoho does not acknowledge the current reality of most companies in which project users and client users will collaborate on a task or issue. 

2. lack of collaboration with CLIENT USERS. Why on earth do they decided that CLIENT USERS cannot access the pages module? For us, is completely ridiculous since WIKI are the base of collaboration today.

Also, the WIKI MODULE integration is pretty poor, crashing all the time and very very slow. We reported it several times with no consistent response from Zoho team.

3. issues: no SLA for issues and no DUE DATE in hours. So, you can only set a due date in  DAYS which render useless for us.

4. status, workflow and business rules: that's not a workflow at all, it is a simple states model. We don't use 1 single business rules since they are all 'action based' and with issues, the business rules we need (similar to the ones we had on Mantis) are TIME BASED. For example: an open ticket for X hours. 

5. forums: still cannot mention a users from inside the module... need to out to the feed and mention it manually. 

Most of this things, forces us to use a lot of email and have 'additional' processes to keep track of things. At same point, the strength we seek in the project management suite for our company is fragmented. Don't get me wrong, we consider Zoho a good product, but there are SMALL things that carry a LOT OF WORK for us.
