Deprecating support for the default help center theme

Deprecating support for the default help center theme

Over the last couple of months, we've made significant changes to Zoho Desk's Help Center. The new enhancements let you customize widgets, build your Help Center block-by-block and selectively display or hide tabs. We now offer not one but four distinct themes - Elegant, Materialize, Flat, and Classic. More information about these changes is available here.

We've noticed that many customers still use the outdated default Help Center theme. To make better use of our self-service features, you will need to upgrade to the newer Help Center themes. This will enable you to use widgets and customize your Help Center extensively.

We urge you to make the change as soon as possible. You'll be surprised by how much more you can do to customize and contextualize your Help Center now!

Sandbox test your themes before you go live

When you try out new themes, there is always a level of uncertainty about whether it will turn out the way you imagined. More so because these changes may be exposed to your customers in real time.

Zoho Desk now enables you to create sandbox themes where you can test and experiment without fear of affecting your live instance. You can create a new sandbox any time you want, and you can try out one theme at a time. More about this here.

We will be deprecating support for the current default theme on 14th January 2020. Please switch to one of the newer themes by then. Customers who have not made the switch will be moved to the new default theme, Elegant.

Do reach out to our team if you have any clarifications.

UPDATE: We will be deprecating support for the current default theme by the end of February 2020.

Cheers,
Team Zoho Desk
