Dear Customer,
We would like to share an important update to how emails are sent via Custom Functions (Deluge) in Zoho Connect.

What's new?

To improve security and email deliverability:
  • The From Address in the Send Mail task used in Custom Functions must be one of the following:
    • Zoho.adminuserid
    • Zoho.loginuserid
    • A verified email address
  • If an email address is not verified, it won't be delivered. The send email task will be skipped. To verify the email domain, you need to set up the custom email.
Notes

Once the custom email is enabled, notification emails will be only be delivered through the email address you specify.


How to verify your email address

To use your preferred email address as the From Address:
  1. Verify the email address, its domain, and DKIM using the Custom Email feature.
  2. Once verified, the email address will be ready for use.

When will this change take effect?

This update will be implemented on February 10, 2025.

This came with very little notice. Is it still possible to use the login user email address without adding the DNS-level verification? We are a small group within a large organization and do not have the ability to add DNS records. However, the email we are using for notifications in the custom functions is for a "bot"-type user account with an active license. Please assist ASAP because this is turned off in 1 day, and my portal only showed this message for the first time today.

Hi Robert, 

We have now extended the deadline for email/domain verification till February 10, 2025. Sorry to inform you that we do not have an alternate for this, any email that needs to be used with the send email task in Custom Function feature must be verified.

We don't use a custom email.  Do we still need to verify?

You need to verify the DKIM using the custom email feature, only  if you are using the "Send Mail" task in Custom Functions (Deluge) in Zoho Connect.

Hello Manoj,

We are using Notifications@zohoconnect.com as the email address by default and have no custom functions in place. This being sent we use only standard notification such as "Sending Daily News Digest", "Notifying Employee on Awarding Badges", "Moderation" etc. Will there be any impact for above?

Hi Rama,

The above update do not impact the delivery of the in-app email notifications. You may ignore the above message, if you have not configured any custom function in Zoho Connect.
