Sunsetting Zoho CRM API Version 1.0 - Updated (Dec 12, 2019)

Hello folks!

The progeny of Zoho CRM APIs is here and we're immensely proud to introduce the latest version, V2, of APIs. Our API team has been hard at work to bring to you an API platform that has OAuth2 support, easy to use JSON response formats and a lot more.

The newer version of our APIs can do everything it's predecessor can, and a lot more! We can't wait to share what we have in store for you. Please have a look at our support documents below, for more.

API V2 Help document

List of Features of V2
  1. OAuth 2.0
  2. Server side SDKs
  3. Javascript SDKs
  4. Mobile SDKs
  5. Connections
  6. Functions
Advantages of V2

1. Better security on using OAuth 2.0, which comes with scope for each API call. This ensures that even if tokens are disclosed, it can't be misused. Furthermore, the tokens are valid only for an hour.

2. Multi DC support.

3. The daily limits of API calls have been revised to hundred thousand calls per day.

4. API 2.0 follows REST standard and facilitates easy JSON parsing, in which all APIs follow a similar response structure.

5. API dashboard for better usage analysis.

6. "API Names" have been introduced and as a result, changes in custom fields' and custom modules' labels won't affect your existing integrations.

Having said this, it is time to bid goodbye to the old version. Please note down a few important dates on your calendar to prepare yourself for this change. This is to ensure you have complete clarity about the API roadmap.

Deprecation Date: Dec 31, 2018

Issue fixes, API support and enhancements for the V1(previous) version will not be taken up beyond the deprecated date. All of the V1 API methods will be marked as deprecated.

The V1 APIs used in your existing code will STILL WORK even beyond the deprecated date, and will become non-operational only after the Sunset Date mentioned below.

Sunset Date: Dec 31, 2019

All old API methods will not be operational. All your codes written based on V1 will stop working.

Transition Documentation:

You can also refer to our API Transition and Differences documentation to migrate your existing API V1 code base to API V2 before the dates mentioned earlier.
