Hello everyone,
Have you ever felt completely abandoned, lost, and alone?
Well, that's exactly how your customers feel when you abruptly end a form with a generic Thank You page. The Thank You page can be so much more than that, and for this week's tip, I've put together a few alternatives. So, the next time you're tempted by the allure of the default, try one of these instead!
Value their opinion
Getting feedback is one of the best ways to engage with and validate customers. Over time, it can turn customers into your biggest advocates and evangelists! Plus, feedback has the added bonus of letting you know exactly where your product needs improvement.
So instead of the generic thank you, try
automatically redirecting customers to a simple feedback form. This feedback form shouldn't be very complex (remember, they just finished filling out another form)! A simple form with a rating slider should do the trick.
Create prefilled forms
There may be times when your customers need to fill out more than one form for a single process. If these forms contain generic fields in them, your customers have to enter the same data again for each form. Sounds tedious, doesn't it? Instead, you can
prefill the second form with the data entered from the first form (like contact details, employee number, etc) to make completion easier.
So let's say you're planning an event. After an invitee submits an
RSVP form, you can immediately redirect them to a
Guest
List form where their name and email address has been automatically filled. Pretty neat, right?
Land them on your turf
Do you have a website for your business or your product? Why not
redirect customers to your website instead of abandoning them on that desolate thank you page! This is a convenient way to provide your customers with more info about your product or upcoming events.
Let's say you own a cake shop and you've put out an order form on social media to help increase online orders. After a customer finds your form and places an order, you can take them to your website showcasing more information about your shop and your other delicacies.
Nothing excites or influences customers more than a service that's personalized for them. Create a
personalized message by including data received from your form and display it right after submission. This way, you can deliver a custom "
Newsletter
Subscription
Success " or "
Order
Confirmation " message for each submission.
Again, the next time you're thinking about using a generic thank you page, try one of these options instead! What are your ways of redirecting the customers? Share them in the comment section below–We'd love to hear from you!
