What's New in Zoho Books - December 2018

Hello everyone,

This year is almost at a close and we're still churning out updates here at Zoho Books. This month, we're bringing you updates varying from customizable notifications to enhanced reports. Let's dive in!

Create Your Own In-app Notifications

Customizable and convenient--the new in-app notifications are meant to save you time and keep you informed. These notifications can be triggered by setting up workflow rules and are sent to the Zoho Books mobile app as well.

Customize Your Vendor Statements

Whether it's renaming fields or removing entire columns, the vendor statement template can now be customized to suit your needs.

File GSTR-1 Using EVC (Indian Edition)

The latest update provides an additional way to file your GSTR-1 from Zoho Books by using an EVC (Electronic Verification Code). This lets you file your return to the GSTN by using a PAN based verification system where an OTP is sent to your registered mobile number.

Create Custom Fields for Manual Journals

You can now create custom fields for manual journals, letting you record even more details about those miscellaneous transactions that need to be added to the general ledger.

Record Bank Charges

We've added the Bank Charges field while recording your bill payments, which lets you record any transactional charges you may have incurred while making payments. The amount entered in this field is exclusive of the total bill amount. Currently, this feature is available for the Australian, Canadian, Global and US editions of Zoho Books.

Enhanced Reports

We've heard your feedback and have added more customization options to existing reports.

Generate Reports Based on Projects

The Account Transactions and Profit and Loss reports can now be customized based on Projects. This will include project related transactions, which will help you generate profit and loss reports for individual projects as well as assess the profitability of each of your projects.

More Columns for Filtering Reports

Zoho Books now supports more invoice and contact related columns that can be shown in your Invoice Details report. You can also choose to display custom fields or hide default columns for both Invoice Details and Sales by Items reports.

Generate Customer and Vendor Balances as on a Particular Date

You can now view your customer and vendor balances on a particular date or date range, without them being affected by future transactions.. The Customer Balances and Vendor Balances reports will have to be scheduled for a particular day and you'll be notified when it's been generated.
