Accounting on the Go Series-9: Biometric Authentication - A Secure and Convenient Way to Access Zoho Books

Hello all,

Welcome to another episode of our "Accounting On-the-Go" series. Today, we'd like to introduce you to a feature that combines robust security with ultimate convenience in your Zoho Books mobile app: Biometric Authentication.

The Need for Enhanced App Security:
In today's fast-paced digital landscape, safeguarding your financial data is paramount. Recognizing this, Zoho Books takes app security seriously and provides a range of features to ensure your sensitive information remains protected.

Enter Biometric Authentication:
Our Biometric Authentication feature elevates the security and accessibility of your Zoho Books mobile app. This functionality offers three options for heightened privacy and ease of use: Passcode, Touch ID, and Face ID.

Passcode/PIN Code:
Set a unique passcode known only to you, adding an extra layer of security when launching the app. Even if your device is misplaced, your financial data remains safe.

Touch ID:
For devices equipped with Touch ID, utilize your fingerprint to swiftly and securely access your Zoho Books account. It's a seamless and efficient way to log in.

Face ID:
If your device offers Face ID capabilities, take advantage of this advanced biometric technology. Your app unlocks with just a glance, ensuring a balance of security and convenience.

How it works in iOS app:

Open the Zoho Books iOS app.
Navigate to "More” and then “Settings” and scroll down to “Privacy and Security”.
Click on "Passcode Lock" and turn on the passcode.
Enter a passcode, verify, and confirm it. Once done, for the first time, you will be asked, "Do you want to allow 'Zoho Books' to use Face ID?" You can choose "Yes" to unlock the app using Face ID.
Now, click on "Require Passcode" and choose when you'd like to be prompted for the passcode.
Moving forward, when you try to access Zoho Books, you will need to enter the passcode or unlock using Face ID if enabled.
If you wish to disable Face ID later, you can go to your phone settings, find Zoho Books, and disable Face ID. After this, you will only need to enter the passcode when accessing the Zoho Books application.
