Accounts for sales and purchases of manually added items

Hello! I would like to ask you a question. My company recently decided to sell an item not entered as a proper item, it was not entered in the item list, so we manually entered it in all documents. From P&L's list we can see, that it appears in the parent account ( Sales 3000), not in any of sub accounts.
At the same time, when we purchased an item, that is not entered in the item list (manually added) from our supplier it has appeared in a sub account, not in parental one.

So, my question is:WHY DOES A MANUALLY ENTERED ITEM NOT APPEAR IN THE SAME ACCOUNT (EITHER PARENT ACCOUNT OR SUB ACCOUNT)?
