Attn. Zoho Support Administrators who have setup Customer Portal

The self-service portal within Zoho Support is meant to provide your customers with access to relevant knowledge when and where they need it most. Very soon, we will be rolling out the following important update to it.

Today, as an administrator, you can pick a language for the self-service portal to be displayed to your end customers. Aside from this, your end customers can also select their preferred language under their 'My Preference' section in the self-service portal. We heard from quite a few of you that this 'dual choice' leads to an unpleasant experience owing to translation conflicts and usability difficulties. ​​

Starting next week, your end customers will not be able to choose their language under the 'My Preference' section in their self-service portal.

The language chosen by an administrator (here under,  Setup >> Customer Portal >> Portal Customization >> Default Portal language ) will be the default language for the customer facing self-service portal.

This is an early step towards building multi-language support for the customer self-service portal. If you have any concerns whatsoever about this change, please share them by leaving a comment below.
