This really could do with a major overhaul!

I really think we should have sub-customers!

A scenario:

We supply Google with all their equipment.

They have offices / server centres & subdivisions world wide.

They buy on a regional basis but when a payment is > £100,000.00.00, the payment has to be authorised & come from head office, smaller ( piddly :-O ) amounts can come from regional centres.

Even the regional offices can have more delivery addresses than is allowed in Zoho.

If we had sub-customers - selecting the customer / delivery address is much more simplified & any restrictions eliminated.

We would just start typing "London", which would bring up all offices in London to choose from or we could just start typing "Camden" in the customer field & it would automatically be retrieved "Google-Europe-London-Camden" - sub-customers make much more sense!

With the current setup we have to have delivery addresses for each, we are limited to X amount of delivery addresses & it's a real, unnecessary pain. If we had sub-customers - this is eliminated.

When we receive a nice big payment > £100,000,000.00 from head office with a list of all our invoice numbers & values from all regions - it is very difficult to receive as we then have to go through each individual regional customer, calculate, receive etc - very frustrating !

Receive payments, select "Google" & all Google invoices worldwide are available to apply the payment to.

Receive payments, select "Google-Europe" & all Google-Europe" invoices are available to apply the payment to. etc, etc.

If we had sub-customers - these problems are eliminated.

Some branches may insist that the delivery / shipping note has to contain the managers name on it, because he like to see himself as important, for instance. We could associate a template with that particular office / warehouse !

Reports would also benefit from this...

How much did Google spend last year overall ?

How much did Google-Asia spend last year ?

How much did Google-Europe-London-Soho spend last year ?

How much did Google-Europe-London-Camden spend last year ?

etc, etc - this really does make sense guys !!!

Plus, plus, plus - The benefits are enormous!
