Is there a way to create projects in Zoho Mail without using Zoho Projects?

If so, is there a way to create projects in Zoho Mail without assigning them first to a Group? (I am a solo entrepreneur, and do not need to use any of the group functions.)

Can tasks created in Zoho Mail later be assigned to a Zoho project?
