Date Format Doesn't Convert

I'm importing data from Google Sheets I'm trying to change the date format of the "date" columns to mm/dd/yyyy. In my original Google Sheet, the format is mm/dd/yyyy. The initial date format in Zoho is 17 Apr 2017 00:00:00.  

When I change the Format of Date Columns to mm/dd/yyyy, my date column in the table preview is then changed to a Plain Text data type. If I change the data type back to Date and then create the source, I get errors on the entire Date column: "RESET : Invalid Date value."

Is there something I'm missing here?
