Thank you all so much for your help.  

I have a simple problem that hopefully has a simple solution that I just can't figure out.  

I am using the email add-on.  On each individual lead page, I am able to see a list recording all email correspondance with the lead's email address.  

But once the lead is converted to a contacts, although the section to view email records is on the contact page, no emails are shown.  In every case they are just blank.  

Is there a solution to this?
