I have been testing Zoho Projects, and so far I like what I see. However, I do have a few issues.
My company relies heavily on Google Apps and I have found Zoho Projects integration a little lacking. Here is a list of some things I would like to see in Zoho Projects.
- I would like to be able to add more than just tasks to my Google Calendar without each user having to subscribe to their Work Calendar.
- I would also like updated tasks to update in my Google Calendar, as well.
- Only allowing Google Docs to be imported completely defeats the purpose of Google Docs for me and my team. I realize that you offer Zoho Docs, and that once files are imported they can be edited and viewed in Zoho Docs. However, as I said before we are heavily invested in Google Docs, and the purpose of Google Docs for us is to have a central location for our documents to collaborate on. If we import a file into Zoho Projects and a member of the team updates that file within Google Docs then we have 2 versions of the same file. And like I said, that defeats the whole purpose for me. (While I like Zoho Projects better overall, Manymoon is a great example of Google Docs integration. You can create a new Google Doc, edit and set sharing permissions all within Manymoon's interface and the doc itself stays stored within Google Docs.)
- It would also be nice to have this functionality at the task level from within the Associate Documents tab. Currently, I believe you have to import a document before you can attach it to a task. (Manymoon has this feature, too.)
- And last, it would be nice to be able to click on the start and due date of a task to change them in the task list for quick updating rather than open up a new page to edit. You can already do this with Owner, Status and Priority, but not the dates.
If any of this has been covered in another post, then I apologize. With those things being said, I am still quite impressed with Zoho Projects and the other tools that are available from Zoho, as well. I realize it is hard to be all things to all people, but these are just a few of the things that I would like to see in Zoho Projects.
