How do I enable email alerts without getting an email every time a candidate applies for my jobs?

How do I enable email alerts without getting an email every time a candidate applies for my jobs?

I disabled email alerts because I was getting an email every time a candidate applied for a job.  However, I would like to send confirmation emails to candidates when they apply, and notifications to hiring managers when interviews are scheduled.  The only setting I see for this is all-or-nothing.  Is there a way to fix this?
