How to stuff up a migration

How to stuff up a migration

We love Zoho.  It's a great system with pretty responsive service, but today's experience has been a bad one.

We informed Zoho that we wished to migrate to the new version of Zoho recruit. We agreed on a date (26 Feb) several weeks in advance and informed our staff accordingly.  We chose 26 Feb because it was a Friday and the migration would take place after hours.  Our Zoho Administrator was on standby to monitor the account over the weekend and iron out any bugs.  We had trained our staff, and also scheduled a session after the weekend to run through the new version in real-time.

You can imagine our disappointment when Zoho emailed us on the afternoon of the scheduled migration to inform us it wouldn't be going ahead.  No reason given.

This is nothing compared to what's happened today.  Out of the blue, in the middle of our work day, all staff were kicked out of the system due an unannounced migration. This happened in the middle of a working day.

When we immediately contacted Zoho to complain we were told " The Migration was opened up this morning and since the account was scheduled to run last week - The migration process started running and completed successfully."

Well it's not completed successfully. For a start, every single appointment is missing from all of the Recruiter's calendars including today's interviews.  We are now scrambling to check all other aspects of the system.

Zoho you are a systems company.  This is not how a migration is meant to happen.  Please explain?
