Import from Document seems to be stalled

I am trying to upload resumes, actually hundreds. i recently discovered I could do this with a bulk zip file, however on my last attempt to import i am stuck at this:

Importing your file has been successfully initiated

This may take some time, however you can navigate away from this page and once successfully imported we will be sending you an email notification

It has been about 4 hours now. What can i do?
