Introducing Recovery Key in Zoho Vault

Introducing Recovery Key in Zoho Vault

Hello everyone,

Many of us have forgotten our master password at some point, and after resetting it, only our enterprise passwords can be recovered. That’s because your Zoho Vault data is encrypted with your master password, which is never stored on our servers. Only you know it. That keeps your data private, but forgetting it meant starting with a reset.

With the recovery key, that no longer has to be the case. A recovery key is a backup you generate yourself and keep in a secure place. If you ever forget your master password, you can use it to set a new one, and all your existing data stays intact.

Notes
Note:
  1. This feature is enabled by default, and administrators can disable it for users.
  2. Users should upgrade themselves to the latest RSA 4096 bit key size encryption standard.
Generate your recovery key today and store it safely. For step-by-step instructions and more details, check out our help article.
