When I’m switching between apps on the iPhone, is there a way to get the notes app to keep the note that I write visible?

I’m always checking back to the notes app  usually with safari but the words disappear when I’m switching between my apps. The notes app is perfect but this one thing is driving me nuts. I’ll have to switch the something else if there’s not a fix.
