Manipulate Account ordering/display on reports

Manipulate Account ordering/display on reports

I have some accounts which are of the same type, similar names and numbers but they are separated farther than I want, how does a report choose where to put similar accounts? Is it the age of creation? Is there any way to manipulate them around within a particular Type and Parent  Account?

For instance:

-Payroll Taxes and Benefits 6179 Parent Account
      -Payroll Benefit Costs Wheld from wages, Emp Pd, Child Acct
      -Payroll Taxes, Company Pd, Child Acct

-Payroll-Wages 6180 (This is a system account so it can neither be a Parent or a Child account)

6180 and 6179 are all type "expense" but they separate many lines apart on the report yet I would like them adjacent
