When using the QR/barcode scanning function on user driver's licenses, the data populates with 3 letter prefixes, which I assume, are the field category codes from the barcode itself.  How are those letters removed?  

Also, date data comes in as a set of numbers, such as 11151985 for Nov 15, 1985.  Once the 3 letter prefix removal is figured out, will the set up numerics translate into the date field?
