I was thinking today that all this work has been done by the development team to create this new resume inbox feature, resume parser, resume mapping settings, etc.
It probably wouldn't be a heavy lift by any means in code to re-purpose all that work that has been done to also serve as a job inbox and job parser. Having job feed / VMS integration would be a HUGE value add to the recruit product.
The scenario is that almost all recruiters get their job orders e-mailed to them. It would be nice to have a job inbox / pop account where I have my customers forward those job orders to. The job parser then would automatically parse the job descriptions and auto-create the jobs in the system. Assignment rules would then assign them to the proper recruiters. This would save an unimaginable amount of time each day and almost completely eliminate the mundane task of entering job orders into the system.
As Job Order e-mails are more structured then resumes, the parser heuristic would be pretty easy to figure out if a Job order was contract or permanent placement, who the client is, who the company is, what the rate / rate type maybe, job description, etc. In the event it couldn't figure it out it could set the job status to "Incomplete" so that we only have to clear the exceptions.
I totally think that is worth a few sprints.
