Problem deleting candidates

I tried to import a resume & instead it created a couple dozen incorrect "candidates" from the 1 resume. Then I tried to delete the incorrect candidates, and the system will not allow me to delete them. How do I delete these multiple incorrect "candidates" all at once? I've tried clicking on the boxes to the left of the candidate name, followed by clicking on the delete button, and nothing happens. Very frustrated right now.
