Recurring Invoice or Payment Reminder

I have many clients that make monthly partial payments until paid in full. We want to remind them of their monthly payment without having to manually send them an invoice or automatically doing a Paypal charge.

Is there a way to set up the invoice to automatically go theme every month. I set up recurring invoice, but I have a feeling that it is going to automatically charge them instead of just reminding them to pay.
