Remove users IP from Header when sending password authenticated emails using zoho SMTP
To Zoho Support
I notice in this thread
https://help.zoho.com/portal/en/community/topic/sender1-zohomail-com-blocked-using-barracuda-reputation
that Sivaprasad has indicated that a users IP address that is in a BL in
sending an email through the zoho server is considered as from a BL by
Barracuda. This is evidently due to zoho retaining the users IP in the
header.
I would strongly
recommend that if a user is sending email using password authenticating
through the zoho smtp, then zoho should not be putting the users IP
address in the header. This I feel is a faulty approach by zoho. If a
users machine is compromised and sending spam through this authenticated
zoho account it should be picked up rapidly and blocked due to the
restrictions zoho has in place on the number of emails sent per time period.
This also is a bit of a privacy issue for some users.
The policy that zoho has in place of including this also will penalise
many users with dynamic IP addresses through their ISP using a POP or
IMAP client and sending emails through the zoho SMTP.
Please at least give users the option of disabling their IP in the
header if they are sending an email with authentication
.
