Shading in project pane difficult to view

I have trouble seeing which project I'm in because the shading in the lefthand Projects pane is so light. I have a high quality monitor (Dell 2408WFP), so I don't think the problem is on my end. I tried most of the skins and had the same problem. The shading/highlighting is especially difficult to view in the steel blue theme, which is my favorite.

A slight darkening of the active project highlighting (or having the text go bold in addition to the highlight band) would make a big difference in my experience.
