Site Builder stuck on please wait while replacing banner photo

I seem to be having a problem when I try to replace the banner photo. Neither a resized image do the recomended dimensions nor the regularly sized aspect ratio of the image seem to work. The upload works, and I'm able to add photographs to galleries and other areas, even the background, just not the banner. Any thoughts?
