Total Sales and Base Currency Compared to Receipts.
Hi,
I'm extremely confused about how currency conversion is happening. I'm inputting/importing invoice in dollars to the invoice application. I'm applying a payment on the date the invoices were raised on another marketplace application I work through all in dollars. However in the 'Total Sales/Sales by Customer', it's showing those amounts like-for-like in Euros which is my base currency. Then in 'Total Receipts/Payments Received' it's showing the correct amount in dollars. On the dashboard in 'Total Receipts' it looks like these dollars amounts are converted correctly to Euros on the date I'm logging payment.
So having worked through that I guess I'm wondering what is Total Sales/Sales by Customer showing if the currency is incorrect. Why is it showing amount I entered in dollars as Euros? What is the accountancy function of the Total Sales?
I'm using Zoho Invoice at the moment, when trial the reports in Zoho Books - I do see what I believe is this difference as an exchanges profit/loss amount. But then the totals do not seem to tally with the Total Receipts.
I hope that makes sense to someone, it barely makes sense to me. Hope someone can guide me.
Chris
