it is possible to send an mail alert via deluge?

Sure, we can send a alert directly via a workflow rule but there you are limeted to the workflow criteria. We need to check some complex condidtions an so need to use a custom function. But inside deluge you can only send a mail by provide the email information (subject, body etc.) directly in the code. We dont want to configure the mail inside the custom function, a mail template is the way to go. What if some changed need to be done, not everyone can or want to get inside the code...
