Is it possible to give a URL stored in a project a display value, rather than showing the whole url?

I have a lot of projects connected to issues filed on a separate site, each with a distinct URL. For example:

These are stored in a URL field in the project details. Ideally, I'd like to be able to configure that field so that in all projects it displays only the numeric value at the end of the string, but links to the full URL. Failing that sort of pattern match, I'd like to be able to manually set a display value for the link, but that doesn't seem to be possible either. Am I missing something?
