what is the difference between sales item report and product sales report?

what is the difference between sales item report and product sales report?

I see a difference in the units reported by Zoho Inventory   sales item report and product sales report, the latter one showing a bigger number for some of the items, for the same period. 

Can someone please explain? Which report needs to be trusted?
