What is the recommended maximum # of people in a BCC list so that sendability isn't compromised?

I have a use-case/user for whom using the CRM Mass Email is unacceptable.

She needs to send to 225 contacts about once or twice eper month/

She needs to use only Contact Categories in Mail to segments her lists.
